Meet Butters!

This cutie is a 8-10month old Shepard/Pyrenees mix in search of a home to call his own. He loves to spend his day playing, giving his family lots of love and cuddles, taking many naps, and enjoys long walks around the neighborhood with his person.

He is generally good with other dogs, cats, and kids, though given he is still a puppy and a larger dog, he has nipping tendencies and isn’t aware of his size all the time so may be best with older kids. He’s been learning to live with a cat.. who often puts Butters in his place when she wants some space! As for other dogs, he gets taken aback by energetic, hyper dogs so older more calm dogs would be the best fit for him.

He loves going for his daily walks with his foster mom and stays right by her side on leash.. though sometimes he gets super excited and likes to chase the leaves in the wind but a firm “leave it” gets him back on track. He is fairly strong so an experienced handler would be best. He is very smart and well mannered and would benefit from a family willing to continue his obedience.

Butters is house trained and working on enjoying crate time during the day and learning that’s his safe space. He does not like to be separated from his family so his adoptive family should be one home more often and work on his trust in that his humans will come back and that he is safe at home.
