Crystal the Beagle Bully Mix at Cold Nose Warm Heart Dog Rescue of NJ

Crystal was found as a pregnant stray in Virginia and made her trip to NJ just before New Year’s and safely delivered 6 healthy puppies on 1/3/24. She has done a wonderful job caring for her pups but it is time for her to find her forever home and just be a dog again!

She is about 2 years old and is in the 30ish lb range. She is a beagle bully mix and has the amazing temperament to prove it. She loves people and is extremely sweet, but she also has an energetic puppy side where she loves to get yard zoomies with the other dogs in her foster home, chase after balls and toys, and bounce from one end of the couch to the other. She hasn’t spent much time with young kids but her foster family feels she would do wonderfully with them. She is so ready to start living the good puppy life!!

Crystal gets along fine with most other dogs as long as they aren’t too “in your face” although she’s fine wrestling with the shepherd mix in her foster home and she regularly hangs out with the resident cats. She might try to play with and chase cats, but she doesn’t have any aggression. She is fully house broken - she had a few accidents when she first arrived but I think that had more to do with having puppies and a new environment. She loves to chew on toys and will destroy them but hasn’t chewed on anything else in the home. She does have a mischievous side though so be sure not to leave any food out in the open or she will try and take it! She loves to sleep in and her foster mom often has to try to wake her a few times to get her to go out in the morning. Crystal does like to jump up on people but it’s always in a gentle way and her forever family can work with her on that habit. She walks fine on a leash in a residential area but in a nature environment she may pull a bit as her beagle nose takes in all of the new smells! She does bark at other dogs/people on walks, but she also hasn’t been out much in the past few months of her life so I think with some training and consistency that will improve!

Crystal deserves the best forever where she can lounge on the couch and bed and then run through the yard to get her puppy zooms out! She would make a great addition to any home.

Attention Beagle and Bully lovers - meet Crystal! Crystal was found as pregnant stray in VA and was transported to NJ just before the New Year. She delivered 6 healthy babies on 1/3/24 and did a wonderful job caring for them. Now all of her puppies are heading off to their wonderful forever homes and it’s time for Crystal to find one too!

Crystal is super sweet and adorable. She is half beagle and half American bully and she has the amazing temperament to prove it. She is about 2 years old and around 30 pounds and is the most beautiful honey color with white socks.

She loves people and is very gentle - she just likes to jump up sometimes which her new family can continue to work on. While she hasn’t been around any very young kids, her foster family feels she would do fine with them based on her sweet nature. She loves to follow you around and just hang out with whatever you’re doing. She would make a really great adventure buddy and afterward she would provide all of the well earned snuggles!

She would make an excellent playmate for another pup and loves to play chase or wrestle even with dogs twice her size! She has met dogs out of her foster home and done amazing and played very respectfully. She often hangs out with the resident cats in her foster home but she does try to play with them.

She loves to play with toys but she will destroy them as she LOVES to chew so her family should make sure she has some good quality chew toys! She loves to chase after balls in the yard but hasn’t quite figured out how to bring it back yet.

Crystal has been sleeping through the night in a crate with no issues. She is housebroken and hasn’t had any accidents since the first few days that she arrived. She doesn’t appear to have any type of food aggression. She walks fine on leash - she may bark if she sees another person/dogs but her foster family thinks that will improve with more exposure. She is generally pretty quiet at home unless she sees something out the window (like a typical pup). As a beagle mix who loves to run around she would probably do best with a secure fenced in yard. She is truly a very well rounded pup that deserves the best forever home where she can get all of her zoomies out in the yard followed by a nap on the couch!
