Smoochie (Kissing Queen) the Pitbull at Rescue Haven Foundation

Found running along a major NJ highway, Smoochie's journey to safety was nothing short of miraculous. Rescued by a compassionate soul who couldn't turn a blind eye to this dire situation (despite having a car full of cats heading for vetting), Smoochie's resilience shines through even though she looked very neglected.No ID or chip noted and no one claimed her. Despite enduring a neglectful life, her spirit remains unbroken. Despite her past, she holds no grudges, and yearns to trust others so as long as you give her a few minutes (and some cookies!), she gives you her gentle wagging tail and her heart full of love.

Forever home recommendations:
Smoochie is quite loving. She seems to enjoy all people and prefers a home where people are around more than not. Smooch likes walking, hiking, sniffaris, cuddling, spooning, and snuggling.
Kids: She would do well with respectful older kids.
Dogs: She is good with dogs her size and enjoys their company. She may prefer a calmer, easy going, or submissive canine pal.
Cats: No
Crate trained: Yes, but long term crating may stress her.
House trained: Working on it but needs your help.
Leash manners: She does like to lead the walk and would benefit from basic training.
Personality: Smoochie is a bit shy with new people but seeks attention and company.
She is great in the car and would be great on a road trip or running errands.
How did Smoochie find herself at Rescue Haven Foundation: Smoochie was darting through traffic on a major highway but her rescuer is a friend of ours who was in the right place at the right time.
Smoochie is fully vetted and healthy and will be spayed prior to adoption.

Smoochie had a great time making friends at Home Towne Pet Shoppe yesterday. She brought her favorite ball, walked the aisles and happily greeted shoppers. 🥎
